The National Institute of Valuation ( INSPEN ) was established in 1985 under the Department of Valuation and Property Services, Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. It was officially opened by the Honourable Tun Daim Zainuddin, Minister of Finance, Malaysia on August 1, 1985.
INSPEN is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting in-service training programmes and carrying out research in the field of valuation and property management. It is also responsible for the management of the in-service examination for JPPH .
In addition, INSPEN also conducts courses on valuation and property management courses for international and local participants under the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Programme (MTCP) sponsored by the Economic and Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Dept., (EPU).
INSPEN is entrusted with the responsibility of researching into specific areas of valuation and property management, the findings of which will benefit the JPPH as well as to the profession as a whole. INSPEN also organises seminars, workshops and conferences relating to the valuation profession.
Publication
INSPEN helps to disseminate property related information through its various publications, not only for the JPPH, but also for the public. Some of these publications are for sale.
Property Market Report
This is an annual publication. It contains detailed information on the property market in Malaysia for the year preceding. The report is available for sale in March the following year.
INSPEN Bulletin
Being an in-house publication, it contains news and activities of INSPEN and also articles related to the real estate industry. This is currently circulated free to particular client departments.
Estate Land Sales
This is a serial publication . It contains detailed information about the transactions of estate lands of more than 40 hectares. This is available for sale.
Million Ringgit Property Sales
This is also a serial publication which contains current information on transactions of property deals exceeding RM1 million. It is available for sale.
