General Objective
Administer and organize the department's/departmental services examination in a professional manner to ensure its integrity and validity.
Functions - Systematically organize departmental examinations to staff members of JPPH, local authorities and statutory body for the purpose of occupational confirmation, croosing of the competency scale and for promotion.
- Ensure that the departmental examination is conducted expediently according to schedule in a given calendar year.
- Announce the examination dates of all ohter departments to the affected staff members in JPPH.
- Systematically organize special examinations under the training programme headed by INSPEN.
- Manage the appointments of subject matter panel, questions creator and examiner.
- Coordinate the creation of examination questions and maintain the question bank.

| Importance of sitting for Examinations
The Department Service Examinations are very important for : - Confirmation in post
- Promotion by appointment via KPSL to a higher grade service scheme
| Mandatory Examinations
Generally, the departmental examinations which are mandatory for the staff of the Valuation and Property Services Department are:

| Mode of application and Application form
The closing date for the application is two (2) months before the date of the first day of the examination. Candidates who are not registered will not be permitted to sit for the examination. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The application form can be submitted any time before the closing date of the examination. Candidates who awaiting for the first time examination results are advised to submit the complete application form before the closing date, even though the results of the examination have not been released.

Documents Allowed to be Brought on the Examination Day
Candidates are required to bring the following documents :
- A copy of Candidates Instruction Notes which contain the index number, the examination centre and the subjects to be taken
- Identity Card or other personal supporting legal documents
- Stationery for the examination viz. pen, pencil, eraser and others.
Attendance
Candidates must be in the Examination Hall before the commencement of the examination for:
- Registration of attendance
- Final briefing on examination procedure and regulations.
- Candidates who come in later than 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination will not be permitted to sit for the examination.
- The Chief Invigilator may at his discretion allow the candidate to sit for the examination, and with extra time, if he finds that the reasons given are logical and acceptable.
Mode of Dressing
Candidates are required to be in neat office attire. Slippers, T-shorts and short pants are not allowed. Female candidates are not allowed to wear the purdah and revealing attire.
The Chief Invigilator can disqualify the candidates from sitting for the examination if they are found to violate examination regulations.
Items Allowed to be Brought into the Examination Hall
The examinatrion syllabus or instructions to candiates state clearly what items are allowed/not allowed to be brought into the Examination Hall. Books or reference material which are allowed to be brought in must not contain any markings, symbols, writings or notes.
Candidates who violate the examination regulations can be disqualified and be led out of the Examination Hall by the Chief Invigilator.
Examination Procedure
- Candidates are required to keep their items which are not allowed into the Examination Hall in a special place allocated.
- Candidates must place their Identity Cards or other self-identification cards on the right corner of the table.
- At all times while the examination is in progress, orderliness and silence must be observed in the Examination Hall. Candidates must behave well and are forbidden to talk or make noise to disturb other candidates.
- Should there be any clarification or intention to leave the Examination Hall, candidates have to indicate with their hands up and convey their intentions to the Invigilator. Permission from the Invigilator must be obtained before leaving the Examination Hall.
- Candidates are advised not to write other than the answers to the questions asked. Matters which are considered sensitive or those related to the Akta Hasutan will not be allowed. Candidates are also forbidden to use the Examination Hall as a platform to express their feelings and to criticise government policies.
- Candidates are not allowed to smoke inside the Examination Hall.
- Candidates can only be allowed to leave the Examination Hall half an hour after the examination has commenced and 15 minutes before the examination ends.
- Before leaving the Examination Hall, candidates must hand over their answer papers to the Invigilator.
- Candidates are forbidden to contact the Chief Invigilator/Invigilator for purposes other than matters related to the examination, whether outside the Examination Hall or at the end of the examination.
- Candidates are not allowed to copy from one another.
Exemptions from Examinations
Candidates who are exempted from any subjects by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) (Public Services Department) are required to forward copy of the relevant letter to the Examination Secretariat as proof.
| Non-Scheduled Examinations
For examinations not stated in the Schedule but are mandatory as required by conditions of the service scheme. candidates can submit early the application forms to the Examination Secretariat. The date of the examination wiil be fixed later.
| Candidates from local authorities and statutory bodies
Candidates from the Local Authorities and Statutory Bodies will be charged according to Pekeliling Perbendaharaan Bilangan 3 Tahun 1996 (Treasury Circulars No. 3 of 1960).
Any cancellation of sitting for the examination must be made known to the Examination Secretariat at least 7 days before the examination date and must be followed up by letter of cancellation, otherwise examination charges will be levied.
